The History of the Eta Theta Chapter
Western Carolina University's chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity came to be on May 6th 1984 when the Eta Theta chapter was chartered. Our chapter was reactivated in the fall of 1996 after some troubled times. We hope, like our founding sisters did, to pursue excellence in the field of music and to bring the gift of music into our community.
Our founding sisters were: Tildy Abernathy, Robyn Benzel, Jennifer Camp, Julia flowers, Lori Hardee, Diane Kelly, Donna Messing, Leisa Stamey, Lisa Stern, Teresa Swanger, Carolyn Thompson, Cynthia Turner, Brenda Turpin, Mara Tutterrow, and Lee Wiggins.
